Three-time Queensland Music Award winners MZAZA passionately deliver their stunning blend of folk to music lovers around the world. Led by mesmerising French-Sephardic vocalist Pauline Maudy, these incredible musicians from around the world harness Balkan and French influences to create a musical ride that taps into the beating heart of humankind.
The impressive musicianship of MZAZA – realised with harmonies, accordion, violin, percussion, double bass and guitar – embraces diversity through exotic melodies that have inspired audiences internationally.
The Birth and Death of Stars
Following the success of albums Journey Over Skin and Ghosts, ensemble MZAZA returns to present The Birth and Death of Stars. Recorded in Athens, the album draws inspiration from philosophers and astronomers and encourages us to take a step away from our daily lives to contemplate our place in the universe.
Children of the Road
Children of the Road is a show based around the theme of migrations, inspired by Pauline Maudy's Jewish family's journey from Spain to Morocco, France and Australia over the last few centuries, by the travels of this accomplished ensemble, and by the plight of displaced populations around the world today.
